Cyril Flint Befrienders, is a charity working to combat social isolation and loneliness in the Trafford and South Manchester areas. Inspired by Cyril himself, who confided in his care worker that he was about to spend his 23rd Christmas alone since the passing of his wife, we have dedicated our service to helping older people who feel lonely or socially isolated in our communities. We have been operating since 2012 and provide a free, one to one befriending service in people’s own homes with the assistance of a team of over 100 dedicated volunteers who commit to visiting their befriendee on a weekly basis. We create up to 65 new friendships a year and are proud to report that 100% of our befriendee’s say they are happy with our service and would recommend it to others.
